Trick of Light (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Trick of Light (Open)   Trick of Light (Open) EmptyFri Oct 29, 2010 7:58 pm

It wasn’t so much that Audrey hadn't heard about Sunnydale having its own Hellmouth, plenty of hunters had mentioned it over the years but in so mentioning there was also talk of some chosen one some chick that was supposed to have super strength that was stationed there and took care of all the evil take arose, but she hadn't gone to the small town in California until now because Audrey just didn't have the time. If all the baddies were being taken out by this Slayer, than what purpose would she serve by going there herself. No, it had been all about following leads either through newspaper articles or word of mouth. Things had been quiet though and Audrey was getting restless. Whenever she hadn't killed something in a while she got a little antsy. So, Audrey had thrown courtesy to the wind and had decided to step in on The Slayers territory. Some concerns about her getting huffy about it did cross Audrey's mind but how could someone get mad about an extra helping hand.

Trolling one of the many cemeteries in Sunnydale Audrey kept a keen sense of observation in tact. The large Bowie Knife strapped to her hip had just been recently sharpened and Audrey was looking forward to decapitating the next vampire she came across with it. Her footsteps were silent as she crept through the moist grass and when a clatter came from inside a mausoleum to her left a small smile came onto Audrey's lips. She went over to the iron cast entrance gate and peered inside seeing a shadowed figure lurking within. As was tradition, Audrey hastened inside and came up behind the figure, her hand poised on the hilt of the knife.

There was a low growl emitted from the man just as he sensed Audrey's presences and he apun around his face much different than any vampire that she'd seen before. It was bumpy and the eyes glowed an animalistic yellow, nothing like the vampires that she was so used to killing. He grabbed a hold of her wrapping his arms around her shoulders to keep her in place while he tried to bite her but Audrey pushed her arms out to the side breaking his hold on her and dipped out of the way. When he came back toward her she had already drawn the Bowie Knife out of its sheath. The vampire pounced toward her making a redundant comment and Audrey jammed the knife into the vampires gut knowing full well it wouldn't kill him but it would hurt him. While he was doubled over for those brief seconds Audrey pushed her foot off of the crypt and brought the knife down on the vampires neck slicing through it completely in one swift movement. The vampire turned to dust, to her surprise and Audrey stood there for a moment, mouth open in shock. Sunnydale vampires were nothing like the ones she was used to.

He had been watching her for a while now, staying at a safe distance from her so he didn't risk being one of her targets. Angel had only been back in Sunnydale for a few days, the reasons for coming back, the Slayer was the main one. Things had changed for the vampire with a soul while he was in L.A., and for once it was for the better. Dark eyes watched the blonde woman as she took out the vampire in a very clean and efficent way. Angel couldn't help smirking slightly however at the look on the woman's face on how the vampire died. The brooding man moved silently along the outer edge of the cemetery dressed as usual in his dark clothing to blend in with the shadows.

He didn't want to startle the hunter so he remained quiet, simply observing and keeping his eyes out for Buffy. He shifted his wrist ever so slightly feeling the straps that held the spring loaded stakes in their sheathes on both wrists. The vampire with a soul hunted his own kind, he drank blood that was from a blood bank or animal blood, he was not the ruthless killer he had been for so long. But this hunter that wandered the cemetery this night did not know that. Angel knew better then to attempt to interact, he was still vulnerable and she was not his reason for being in Sunnydale anyway.

“So much for myths not being all true.” Audrey’s monologue statement seemed to hang in the silence of the night, echoing back to her in the cavernous interior of the mausoleum. If Sunnydale vampires did turn to dust maybe that meant they also could be killed with a stake to the heart. Her mentor, guardian, savior, what have you, “Uncle” Rory had scoffed at the idea of vampires being able to be killed with a wooden stake but he wasn’t all knowing. Audrey set it aside in her mind to go out and fashion her a nifty little stake just to try it out and if it didn’t work there was always the good ole fashioned beheading. Calling and gloating to Rory would be the first thing Audrey did if stakes did work. It was also, underneath the amusement of the idea, a bit frightening. If there were other species of vampires in Sunnydale versus what she was used to then there very well could be more species.

Stepping out of the dank, unfortunate building her hand ran across a thick cobweb that stuck to her. Quickly, and with a small shudder, Audrey wiped her hand on her jeans. When it came to killing creatures, which was never a cleanly job Audrey was right as rain but spiders with their excessive number of eyes and legs spinning sticky silk out their abdomens grossed her out. Her priorities were askew. Maybe it was because she was still jazzed up from her last fight but she sensed something else in the area. That feeling of the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end, someone watching you from a distance, unheard and unseen, was coming on strong. Audrey stopped in her tracks trying to listen for any sounds out of place but there was nothing. It could have just been the aura of evil wafting up from beneath due the Hellmouth that gave Audrey these feelings but she couldn’t be sure.

If it was a game of cat and mouse though Audrey was ready to play. She continued on heading in the direction of the street where her car had been parked but instead of going to it and getting in like she normally would have, Audrey doubled back going the long way around to come up behind whoever it was that was prowling. If, indeed, there was someone to catch.

All of the Cullen's had scuttled and were looking for more like them, Edward being no exception. He took it upon himself to head to Sunnydale, California to meet the real slayer. Prior to this she had been but a myth to him and his particular breed of vampires. They were different and she needed to know the differences if she was going to survive running into their enemies. The cemetery would be the most likely place for her to make her appearance so he started there shortly after his arrival.

There were some mixed thoughts surfacing from a small amount of people nearby but Edward became distracted by a vampire who sprung out of nowhere. The two spared, but not for very long. Edward had far greater speed and the opponent seemed unworthy of the unwanted fight. When the slender and pale undead man severed his neck from the rest of the body, he turned to ashes instantly. There was no need to burn the body, this vampire's physical appearances was also more grotesque and it had actual fangs. This summoned great confusion for Edward.

He knelt down before the pile of ashes, picking some up and then letting them fall through his fingers and back down to the ground. Dark eyebrows were a fury of confusion and misunderstanding. The sounds of footsteps drawing near had him quickly rise to his feet in a standing position, looking to see whom or what was coming next.

The tall slender boy didn’t even bother running away and seeing someone his age, he appeared to be no more than seventeen, out in a creepy cemetery at that hour was fishy. Audrey wasn’t sure if this was the same presence that she had felt before but as she came up behind him she didn’t much care any more. He was the only person in sight and that made him her number one priority. “Shouldn’t you be in bed by now, Sport?” Audrey’s tone was terse. What was it about Sunnydale folks that made them so willing to put themselves in danger? Audrey had good reason, at least good enough reason for her. But this kid looked like he should have been fretting over tomorrow’s math test not out here.

A sneaking suspicion did arise as Audrey came closer to the boy. There was an air about him that she had come to sense in non-humans. He looked so normal though. Sure, he was a bit pale but… when Audrey came around to be face-to-face with the boy her eyes narrowed at the color of his eyes. They were a strange golden color that were either the cause of contacts or something much more sinister. She’d seen demons with reds eyes, yellow eyes, and black but golden- it was a new one for her. It seemed to be the theme of the night.

If he was a demon though why hadn’t he attacked her? Audrey rested her hand on the hilt of her knife ready to pull it on him at the first inkling of trouble. This night was turning into something for the history books. Audrey had seen her fair share of strange and unnatural but the things she was coming up against at the moment were just piling one on top of the other.

Edward had nothing to fear but it did not mean that he was just going to shrug the woman off and chuck her up to be nothing, as she made her way over to where he was standing. At her words he unleashed a snicker from his usual awkward and cold stare. He could not help but find humor in what the female said when she herself looked relatively young, as apparent by the makeup on her face alone.

"I'm looking for someone" Edward stated simply, which was the truth but he felt she was undeserving of that knowledge taking into consideration the way that she carried herself.

The vampire watched as she made her way over and closer to him, his eyes looking direct as they followed her weapon of choice and then back to her face. By now she had annoyed him, he had a reason for being in town and he was not fairly certain of what her reasons were.

"It's interesting. I was wondering what a girl like you was doing here. Your not her" Edward said bluntly, referring to the girl in question not being thee actual slayer. Whether she came off as insulting to the one he was looking for was something he would let the two of them deal with.

PostSubject: Re: Trick of Light (Open)   Trick of Light (Open) EmptySat Oct 30, 2010 5:04 am

Cocky little sucker, this one was. It took everything that Audrey had not to say what was on her mind. The cemetery wasn’t exactly the best place to be trolling for chicks but whatever suited his morbid fascinations. She was sure that he could dig up a nice, spire corpse if he was feeling frisky. It was a bit hypocritical of her to be irritated with the way he seemed to regard her, which, for Audrey, seemed to be as though she wasn’t worth while. On the other hand she didn’t come across, or least hadn’t meant, as thinking she was better than him. She smiled tightly at him and the crudeness of his statement, or rather chauvinistic nature of it. What? Couldn’t a girl like her be out in the cemetery late at night? A boy like him was so what was the difference?

“I’m probably not her. Such a shame too.” Audrey sighed over dramatically purposely avoiding his question as to what she was doing out there. What was she supposed to tell him that she was out there ganking vampires, the thought made her laugh internally. “What about you then?” She turned the conversation focus on the boy. “You out here looking for a date for prom?” Audrey hadn’t gone to her prom. She’d been too busy travel cross-country with dear old “Uncle” Rory and learning how to kill monsters. Any poor moron could have gone to prom.

This boy didn’t seem threatening at all, except for his snappish comments, but some how that just didn’t strike fear into her. She slapped on a mockingly friendly smile. It was more of a defense mechanism than Audrey being a bitch; although that was a contributing factor- she didn’t really play well with people who looked down on her. When it came to hunting, her being a girl, other hunters and even the creatures that she eventually killed always seemed to under estimate Audrey and that had cause her to immediately throw up a wall of snideness at the first sign of it.

Angel remained well out of Audrey's line of sight even when she attempted to catch him from behind. Both of them ended up being distracted by the presence of a third person and Angel remained where he was keeping to the shadows as the two conversed. He heard Edward's words about looking for someone, and usually when people came to Sunnydale it was for the Slayer. So the vampire with a soul decided to make his presence known. He moved out of the shadows carefully making sure both saw him before he was pausing near a gravestone and settling his hand on it. In the dim light a flash of a silver ring on his right hand was seen before he settled it into the pocket of the duster he wore.

"Looks like everyone is looking for the Slayer tonight." He replied softly. "My guess would be she's not in this graveyard, since all of us are now in the middel of it. But there are plenty more to search."

Turning toward the new comer Audrey raised a brow looking him over. Tall, dark and handsome pretty much summed him up but he was also pale and his attire sort of screamed vampire. She couldn’t be sure of course because at the moment everything was all wrong. The vampires that she was used to killing bled just like humans. When she cut off ones head she covered in the arterial spray but with these Sunnydale vampires there was no mess so maybe this guy wasn’t a vampire at all maybe he just liked wearing darker colored clothing.

“I’m not looking for the Slayer. “ She corrected the man. Audrey had just wanted to get a good fight in. Yet, the previous vampire hadn’t put up much of one. It left her itching for more. She took a few steps closer to the man a sly smile adorning her lips. “Do you make it a habit of lurking in the shadows?” He had to be the one that she felt watching her. He’d come out of nowhere and it made the most sense. Not daring to disregard the younger boy she kept them both in eyesight crossing her arms over her chest.

“Although, I heard the Slayer was pretty bad ass. Super strength or something like that. Makes a girl a little jealous with my meek human strength.” Still addressing the dark haired man Audrey fished for a hint to tell her whether or not her suspicions were correct. Whether or not she needed to cut the small talk and be ready to cut this guys head off too. Such a shame she couldn’t test the stake theory out right then and there, no stake to use only her trusty knife. “Are you friends with her… mystery guy?”
